Laughter Yoga & BreathWork with Nikhil
Laughter Yoga is a revolutionary idea – simple and profound. An exercise routine, it is sweeping the world and is a complete well-being workout. Its core premise is that your body can and knows how to laugh, regardless of what your mind has to say. Because it follows a body-mind approach to laughter, participants do not need to have a sense of humor, know jokes, or even be happy. The invitation is to “laugh for no reason“, faking it until it becomes real. During these sessions, Nikhil promotes the use of breathing activities in-between laughter exercises as a way to relax the body and mind. This is extremely important because when you deepen your breath, you calm your body and your mind. When your body and mind are relaxed, you start becoming more aware of the present. Being in the now frees us from the regrets of the past and the anxieties of the future and enables us to enjoy simply being. This practice is good for those who want to have a lot of fun and reduce stress bringing more joy, playfulness and sociability into their life.
These classes do not require advance registration (drop-in) and they are suitable for beginner to intermediate level students. The cost is Rs. 300 for guests, we offer a 50 % discount for Auroville volounteers, and on donation for Aurovilians & Auroville New Comers. About the Teacher
Nikhil is a Certified Laughing Yoga Teacher from Bangalore. Hi is also a Sivananda hatha yoga teacher and Ayurvedic Massage therapist trained from Anjali school of Ayurveda and Panchkarma in Kerala. He has been conducting Yoga & Meditation workshops (hatha yoga, laughter yoga, music meditations, chantings, pranayama etc ) for may years in India, Poland, Bulgaria, the Netherlands, Thailand & Russia. He has also been assisting in the 200 RYS Yoga Alliance Teacher Training Programs (to train new teachers) with Bhagsu Yoga Institute, headed by Om Shankar Yogi. Since a couple of years he moved to Auroville and since then he has been giving classes here.
